We offer two paths for High School completion. Your counselor, Betsey Hoyt, can help you choose the path that is right for you.
Both High School Diploma classes and High School Equivalency classes are free.

How to Register & Enroll
Four Easy Steps
Step 1: Register
New students need to complete the Academic Registration Form.
Returning students can “sign in” with your USERNAME & password. Please contact the HS office if you need assistance.

Click on the Academic Registration Form button then click the “Register Now” button.
Step 2: Complete Orientation and CASAS Reading & Math Assessments
NOTE: Orientations are over for Fall Term 1 classes. However, we are still enrolling in certain classes for fall term 1.
You must take the CASAS assessments and schedule your enrollment appointment with the counselor.
For Fall Term 2 enrollment:
Attend the Orientation and take the CASAS Reading and Math placement tests. Please allow up to 3 hours for testing.

Location: 1939 Ward Street (entrance on Miliva); Main Office. Arrive during these time frames

Stop by the main office to get an ASE “Blue Card” with your student ID #, then head to the testing room.
Choose a day and arrive during those time frames. No appointment necessary. The main office phone number is 510-644-6130.

Step 3: Take ONE More Placement Tests
Writing Sample with Questionnaire. This step is required of all new students to help us place you in classes that are at the right level for you.
After you have completed steps 1, 2 & 3…
Step 4: Get enrolled in classes
In your meeting, you will create your Education Plan and establish your goals:
- Discuss and choose your path to finishing high school.
- Review your transcript and the credits you still need.
- Enroll in classes: Receive your schedule with classroom information.
Being a high school graduate can help you get a better job, succeed in job training, and transition to college. We’re proud of you for wanting to finish high school!
WHO MAY ENROLL:
BAS’ programs are designed for people who live in Berkeley and the surrounding communities. Funding for high school classes comes from the State of California. We cannot serve people who live outside of California.
