Who May Register
Berkeley Adult School English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are for people who live in Berkeley and the surrounding communities. Funding for these classes comes from the State of California. We cannot serve people who live outside of California. We do not ask about your immigration status.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
ESL classes help immigrants improve their English skills so they can make a better life for themselves in the United States (US). As a Berkeley Adult School student, you can improve your English to get a better job, further your education, help your children, or become a US citizen. ESL classes are free.
All ESL classes conducted ONLINE. Classes will NOT meet in person. You will work with your teacher and other students on your phone, tablet, or computer.
